Haramara Retreat: Opiniones
Experiencia positiva: This is my second yoga retreat at an eco resort and I had a lovely time with my group and retreat leader. However, as a local guide I have to admit there were some steep setbacks at Haramara and I can’t say that I would return based on the resort alone. First, and MOST IMPORTANTLY— THEY DO NOT SERVE MEAT AND DO NOT STATE THIS ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!! As a yogi and body builder, meat is an essential part of my diet and not having it for a week (and not being able to make that decision for myself) was a tremendous setback in my healing journey as it took days to be able to make adjustments. I can admit that when I realized they only served fish, which this water sign does not eat, I was severely disappointed. When they tried to serve tofu as a “local organic food” I was disgusted! By Sunday afternoon and not even meeting half of my protein intake I went directly to the kitchen staff and told them I was willing to go purchase chicken for preparation at which they told me “No meat!!” I then asked for them to increase the protein significantly, which they did and then was satisfied with the meals around half the time. The flavor was there, however, mushrooms and slimy food is not my preference. The casitas were cramped and don't have a place to hang wet bathing suits, dresses or even a general place to sit and journal. I found the mattresses to be incredibly hard and the group would joke about getting bed sores. I slept the minimum 6 hours my body demands. There was no sleeping in. I think the best part of my casita was that it was all the way at the bottom of the hill, right by the ocean which blocked out a lot of the noise from town. Also walking up the hill—an average of 50 flights a day; up from 25– was good for cardio and the glutes. However, I could have easily stayed off site with the same walkability. (And more amenities, cluck cluck ) Another setback was that the yoga rooms were booked to max capacity, so there was a sense in of urgency to class. The owner showed up several times towards the end of class to let us know we were running into her time for her private yoga sessions. Overall, I felt as if I was staying at a complete strangers home (and I was, she lives on site) without knowing the full rules. And of course as a paying guest to her home. Idk. Just feels very… blech for a vacation (which I don’t take very often) The staff was nice and tremendously helpful in all of my needs that arose during my stay. Such as needing a new blanket bc a critter pooped on mine. Exchanging to a later shuttle due to a delayed flight, and extending room charges which intended to close around 8pm the night before checkout. Lastly, they host other themes of retreat beside yoga; there was a divination retreat on site while I was there. Overall, I had a positive experience which is primarily in part to an awesome retreat leader and group who was super supportive in those first days when I was tired and lethargic from lack of proper nutrition. When they say they accommodate all diets—please call and confirm if yours is not vegan. Actividades cerca de mi ubicación: Sayulita is a cute tourist town.
Experiencia fantástica: The food, the location, the service were all outstanding. It was beyond any expectations. Thank you!
Months in advance, we organized a yoga retreat, and they changed the “agreement” many times. Once we were already trapped in their agreement, they changed it advantageously, altering fees, demanding tips (which is illegal and probably because they don’t compensate their workers well), and transportation as they pleased. None of this was in the contract. In the end, we wanted to have a dialogue to reach an agreement, letting them know that their attitude was exploitative. However, they didn’t care, and each time it was more money, disregarding what was in the contract we signed while they didn’t. And, of course, they demanded cash… if everything already felt dirty, this confirmed it. The place was empty, and their arguments were so they could have spaces available. As soon as you arrive, they ask you to leave your bank details (with the security code) to charge you for everything not included, and worse, they keep your information. If you ordered something to drink, you hadn’t finished ordering when they already asked you to sign to charge you. I have never been in a place so urgently focused on charging, as if you were about to leave without paying. It was an extraordinarily unpleasant experience, and after leaving, they continued to harass us for more money. The only positive thing I can say is that the food is very good, and the staff was very friendly (which is not their fault). We offered a retreat of peace and sensitivity to trauma, and this was definitely a traumatic experience. I suggest that anyone looking for a space to host a retreat should look for a kinder and more honest place.
Experiencia fantástica: Gorgeous property lovingly built by the owner over many years. Beautiful rustic and simple and yet 5 star food. Amazing beach below - much prettier and dramatic than the main beach in Sayulita town. The meandering path around the resort along the thick jungle and ocean views is one of the highlights. Wonderful location for a yoga retreat with the yoga decks, cool breezes and fresh air.
Experiencia fantástica: Excelente comida
Experiencia fantástica: excelente lugar en convivencia con la naturaleza...
Experiencia fantástica: I just got home from a week long stay at Haramara retreat. Prior to coming, I was really nervous about not having electricity or wifi. I hope this review gives other guests peace of mind for future stays. The location and staff were amazing. You definitely feel like you're off the grid! We stayed at the Agate casita which had 1 working electrical plug LOL they plugged 2 fans into. We were so happy to have a plug to occasionally charge our phones, etc. Several other casitas had the plug too. There is phone service depending on your provider. Forget about streaming videos, etc but you can receive phone calls and texts. We had pretty decent reception in our casita. The pool, restaurant and by the beach had great reception too. You are walking through nature paths to get anywhere--be sure to bring a flashlight and LOTS of bug spray! You have to take off your shoes before entering the casitas, malokas and restaurant; I recommend bringing a good pair of walking strappy sandals! I wish I would have brought a pair of Chacos sandals. The Cacao smoothie is amazing. We were on a vegan diet and every dish they made for us--was so delicious! Don't turn on too many candles/artificial lights in your room at night, otherwise you'll attract a lot of bugs. We made this mistake our first night. During the day, keep your bed canopy fully closed to prevent bugs/mosquitos from gathering at the very top of tent. They have a great laundry service so you don't have to overpack too much. (Like I did) Each load cost me around $10...Had I known, I would have packed a lot less! Overall our stay here was great. The facilities are well taken care of and very beautiful. I would definitely return for another retreat!
Experiencia fantástica: The most amazing place I have ever been in my life. I would rate this a 6 out if 5 if I could.
Experiencia negativa: awful! the food wasn't good, they have bats inside the cabanas that defecate on the cabana- disgusting.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellence.
Experiencia fantástica: This was an amazing experience for me and our group. Wonderful food, beautiful views, and an amazing retreat experience. The hostess and her staff were both professional and kind. I look forward to coming back next year.
Experiencia fantástica: Un concepto muy especial, yoga y relajación en todos los sentidos
Experiencia fantástica: Best massages from Marcelo and Jay. Completely different styles and each amazing. Open air palapa w sounds of the waves and warm breezes. $105usd worth every penny if you want a truly therepuetic massage vs a beach massage. Booked by emailing the property a few days in advance.
Experiencia negativa: Our yoga studio planned a retreat to Haramara in May. Due to the COVID the retreat center was closed and all flights to Mexico were canceled during our retreat scheduled. We sadly had to cancel our retreat and refund all our guest money. Haramara will still not return our deposit of $4,400, return phone calls or emails. It clearly states in the contract that "in the event that access to Haramara Retreat is denied or restricted by any means beyond our control, whether natural or man made, and we must cancel your reservation, all deposits will be refunded in full." They have not returned our deposit with multiple emails Do not book with this company. Corporate offices do not even follow their own contracts!! Book yoga retreats elsewhere
Haramara Retreat has accommodated all cancellations with full credits to future stays. If you were traveling on a group retreat, please contact the leader of the group. They will provide you with the details. If you were traveling on a personal retreat please contact the person who confirmed your booking. The Haramara team are in their offices and accommodating rescheduled stays and have answered all inquiries. Stay well and we look forward to your return in the near future. Haramara Retreat
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing is all I can say ,you will not regret visiting this place!
Experiencia fantástica: So beautiful and relaxing, I never wanted to leave!
Experiencia fantástica: A friend and I have been leading yoga retreats here for 3 years and have 2 more years booked. There's just too many great things about Haramara to explain. The staff is beyond amazing, the land is peaceful and the accommodations are a perfect blance between nature and convienence. The food is beyond delicious and the wait staff can't be beat.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful location. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. It feels very natural, as if barely touched by humans, yet comfortable and almost luxurious in many ways. I stayed for a week for a yoga retreat, and had a spa treatment, went on a jungle walk, and participated in temescal ceremony. All were wonderful. The casitas and the dorm are open to fresh air and have no electricity. There are plenty of oil lamps and candles though, so this is more like a great motivation to get off the phone. There's phone signal by the pool and by the spa. There are many bodywork modalities available at the spa. Many people in my group had different treatments and all were happy. The food exceeds expectations: the chef is very talented and creative in composing healthy and nutritious fusion style dishes out of great range of fresh local ingredients. The infinity pool is dreamy for watching sunsets from. The staff is caring beyond words. Always there on the ground, committed to service, and seem to just love it. The buildings are spread out over the hill, so I wouldn't recommend it to the folks who can't walk up and down the hill trails and uneven steps. I'm dreaming of going back though.
Experiencia fantástica: Yoga. Rustic luxury. HEAVEN. No sounds except the ocean, crickets and birds. Open air cabanas, no power, candle, lamp and moon light. Amazing cotton sheets, turned down every night. Healthy delicious food served with extreme hospitality. Simple elegance and outstanding service. Private beach. I needed rest and exercise and that is exactly what I got. Oh and the best massages of my life. Golf carts available to run to Sayulita...if you can tear yourself away.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely incredible
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing place. Wonderful healthful food, caring staff, beautiful well-appointed setting amongst the jungle backdrop. Spent a magical week over Thanksgiving and know that I'll be back (hopefully soon)!
Experiencia fantástica: Haramara is amazing. Beautiful, tranquil, calm. The food is beautiful, the service amazing. All the staff are fantastic, the healing centre is great. I will be back. One of the hidden gems on the planet.
Experiencia positiva: Food was delicious. No fans in the dorm made sleeping very difficult.
Experiencia fantástica: Haramara is a wonderful peaceful exotic special place. The service is Top Notch and cannot be beat. Everybody is there to make your day better. I don't know where they got their shot but his meals are among the best I've ever had. Fresh food fresh fruit wonderful homemade goat cheese. The private beach while a bit rough in the waves, is otherwise underutilized and gorgeous. The casitas are gorgeous and romantic. Filled with candle light and oil lamp light. The jungle is feminine and strong and is the perfect place to nurture your meditation and your relaxation and your Rejuvenation, to become one again with who you are.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is fantastic! I was worried about safety when I was booking my trip. Airport to Haramara was simple and safe. They pick you up. And the bad guys are not headed to a yoga retreat to find you. LOL. Great spa, Amazing Yoga, Paddleboarding is Beautiful. I simply love it here.
Experiencia fantástica: Spent a blissful, week at Haramara in late January/ early February. The most beautiful rooms, staff, food, yoga.. Cannot say enough about this place to do it justice. It's a must do for yogis or anyone seeking a quiet time in the lap of luxury..
Experiencia fantástica: Une expérience digne de mention.
Experiencia fantástica: Paix, yoga, mer et gastronomie! que demander de plus?
Experiencia fantástica: Milagro la actualizaron
