Experiencia fantástica: Super chill vibe with an amazing location. Budget friendly dorm with wonderful staff and everything you need for a true Mexico experience. Basic, but just right for me. Bonus is the free hour of kayaking and healthy breakfast bowl included with accomodation! Perfect!

Experiencia negativa: Buena ubicación junto a la laguna, pero lejos del centro y de la playa pública. Coincido con quienes denuncian las condiciones de salubridad, tienen una empleada doméstica que tiende camas pero no lavan bien las sábanas y fundas de almohada. Lo que aquí destaca es el ejercicio en kayak. Habitaciones: Algunas almohadas no son más que bolsas de tela caseras y rellenas con pedacera de esponja industrial. Muchos nos enfermamos de la garganta al inhalar el polvo de almohada estando dormidos.

Experiencia negativa: Pésima experiencia, no es lo que se muestra en las fotos de airbnb. Hay chinches en las camas, no hay agua caliente como se promete a la hora de hacer reserva, el internet no es funcional en las habitaciones, el techo está cerca de colapsarse, el baño está muy sucio, hay mucho ruido por parte de las personas que se hospedan, los kayaks se encuentran en condiciones deplorables, etc. 0 recomendable y menos por el precio que lo alquilan.

Experiencia negativa: La verdad no es lo que esperaba, no es como muestran en las fotos, no merece estar en airbnb, el techo roto, ruido de vecinos, en las camas había animales y chinches, no salía agua ni siquiera caliente y en la descripción decía que contaba con agua caliente y ni siquiera salía agua, muy mala experiencia la verdad, nos salimos y buscamos otro lugar en donde dormir NO LO RECOMIENDO!!!

Experiencia negativa: C'est définitivement la pire expérience que je n'ai jamais eu. Le réceptionniste m'a demandé de payer 2000 pesos pour une nuit en dortoir, au lieu de 450. Il me hurlait dessus, m'insultait de tous les noms parce qu'un ami m'avait rendu visite en matinée pour voir le lever du soleil. Apparemment c'est interdit d'inviter des gens, mais il ne me l'a jamais dit. J'étais en train de ranger mes affaires quand il est entré dans la chambre et a appelé la police parce que je n'étais toujours pas partie (ça faisait 1 h à peine). Je suis traumatisée de cette expérience. En partant, il hurlait et m'insultait, il me disait : "ça y est t'as peur sale gringa". N'allez jamais dans cet hôtel. Le manager est un monstre rempli de méchanceté. This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had. The receptionist charged me 2000 pesos for a dorm bed for a night, instead of the advertised price of 450 pesos. He also yelled at me and insulted me when my friend came to visit me in the morning to see the sunrise. Apparently visits were not allowed, but I had never been informed of this rule. I was packing my things when he entered the room and called the police because I had not yet left (after only an hour). I am traumatized by this experience. On leaving, he insulted and yelled at me, calling me a "dirty gringa" and insinuating that I was afraid. Never go to this hotel. The manager is a monster filled with cruelty. Esta fue definitivamente la peor experiencia que he tenido. El recepcionista me cobró 2000 pesos por una cama en un dormitorio por una noche, en lugar del precio anunciado de 450 pesos. También me gritó e insultó cuando mi amigo vino a visitarme por la mañana para ver el amanecer. Aparentemente, no se permitían visitas, pero nunca me informaron de esta regla. Estaba empacando mis cosas cuando entró en la habitación y llamó a la policía porque aún no me había ido (después de solo una hora). Estoy traumatizada por esta experiencia. Al salir, me insultó y gritó, llamándome "gringa sucia" e insinuando que tenía miedo. Nunca vayas a este hotel. El gerente es un monstruo lleno de crueldad

Experiencia negativa: Came to do yoga. When we arrived we were told that the instructor had gone on holiday. If you’re advertising daily yoga classes, I think you should find a replacement when the instructor goes on holiday ‍♂️ In addition, rooms are full of bed bugs.

Experiencia fantástica: It's a really nice place to spend a day by the lagoon, with ham mi ocks na and bed to lay and watch the water. Very chill atmosphere, good taste in design in of huts and dwellings. There is many cool activities going on there, based on activity of counsious community living in Bacalar, not only to go as, but contact impro jamms, singing/sharing circles and so on. Good coming around, as the place has a good vibe. I don't know about hostel itself, as I haven't spent night there, Also I haven't been interacting much with their crew, so can't say as lot about this part.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a very nice unpretentious hotel /hostel right by the lagoon. Every food they offer is vegan and they also have daily Hatha yoga classes in a very relaxing environment. Amazing sunrises!!

Experiencia positiva: Hostel is ok, but overpriced in comparison to other hostels/hotels around. Nice atmosphere. Good vegan food. Nice place to stay. Kayak included. Against the description in hostelworld there is just a fridge and no option to cook. The yoga class with kolibri was fantastic and professional, especially in the lake-mood-atmosphere. She gives great feedback.

The included breakfast is a healthy start of the day and the free kayaks you can use to go out on the water and watch the sunset in the middle of the lagoon is ! The rooms are average but for the price you pay and all the rest you get it's fair enough. I recommend Posada Lulu La Bruja big time!

Almost 5 star review because our yoga class with cosmiccolibri was the best experience we had in this place! Pero quedamos decepcionados cn la cocina del hostal, en la fotos se ve cocina functiona te pero ahora ni hay hornito para calentar agua. Y la receptionista estaba más ocupada cn su móvil que en atendernos! But we left disappointed by the lack of kitchen in the hostel, even if in the photo appear totally different. And the receptionist was more busy playing on her phone than costumer care.

Experiencia positiva: Wir können nur das Restaurant bewerten. Von den anderen Dienstleistungen kennen wir lediglich die Leih-Kajaks für 150 Pesos/2 Stunden. Das Restaurant trotz fairer Preise und toller Auswahl bestand in der Realität aus: haben wir nicht, habe ich vergessen und habe ich verwechselt. Oh je. Das strapaziert sogar gemütsruhige Veganer. Da ist ganz viel Luft nach oben. Vielleicht abends trainieren. Da gibt es nämlich keine Küche mehr. Nur Getränke.

Experiencia fantástica: Ich bin erst seit 2 Tagen hier aber ich muss sagen ich bin echt begeistert. Ich bacalar ist es die günstigste und gleichzeitig die schönste Unterkunft in bacalar. Man hat einen herrlichen Ausblick und in der Nacht scheint der Mond wie ein Spiegel auf das Wasser. Das Essen ist gut preislich OK. Du kannst dir das kayak eine Stunde gratis ausleihen heute war ich bei den cenotes Negra und bruja. Wunderschön. Ist eine echt empfehlenswerte Unterkunft

Experiencia negativa: I only went to the restaurant for breakfast. The service was really slow, when we enter not even hello was given to us, even do we stayed in the "ordering area". finally we ordered and after 20 minutes the informed us the chef was not there and couldn't make us breakfast. Such a waste of time

Experiencia fantástica: With a heavy heart we leave this place Lulu la bruja was the highlight of our stay in Bacalar. Such a calm place! The garden resembles a small garden, with three more or less cuddly cats roaming around and chilling in the sun. There are multiple options to enjoy the sun right at the waterfront and you can go for an early morning swim before breakfast is served at 8 am. The staff was so friendly and the volunteers aeemed just like fellow travelers. The chill vibe was never interrupted by stressful or unfriendly moments. A 20 minute walk from the center can be a nice exercise, or you grab a taxi for 30 pesos. Bikes can be rented for 150 pesos for 24 hours, and since the road along the shore is a bit up and down you'll have your workout in after some time :D I hugely recommend staying here! P.s.: we stayed in the 6 bedroom dorm whcih has three big windows, and at least 5 Ventilators that work very well (we didn't need them, as there was a fresh breeze coming through the windows, but I imagine them coming in very handy during hotter days) There are also cute small cabind and bigger rooms for 2 or 4 people.

Experiencia negativa: the location of the place is perfect. in the beach. there is a private access to the beach. the atmosphere is cosy and relaxing. but all the other not so impressive the breakfast is very poor. the room is not clean. a cat was sitting on my bad when we came. the stuff quickly replace the sheets when we asked. the bath room is outside the romm and there is a specific hours of hot water.

Experiencia negativa: El lugar tiene ruido alrededor por construcciones, no se disfruta la tranquilidad de la Laguna. Ofrecen clase de yoga sin tener maestro. El manager fue inflexible para cancelar la reserva que teníamos, solo devolvieron el 50% del dinero incluso cuando no nos quedamos ni una noche. No recomiendo el lugar

Experiencia negativa: Way over priced for what it actually is: a hostal. Rooms are old, rustic and simple... cleaning is just ok but not great. No AC or hot water in the shower although they say there is when you make reservation. Unlike other hotels, they charge extra for kayaks and yoga; and they dont have bicycles or paddle boards. Receptionist is super rude, she wont help out, she ignores you and treats you like if you were just annoying her. Breakfast included ok but it is always the same small fruit bowl with oatmeal. I wouldnt choose to stay here again. Read the other reviews.. some people had it hard with bedbugs.

Experiencia fantástica: It is a very nice place to chill out, if you're into vegan, vegetarian, yoga, palmistry, astrology, botanics and all these esotheric stuff. If you're not into it, still you will have such a lovely stay! I would recommend it to couples, or groups of friends.

Experiencia negativa: I was very excited to go there based on my online research, their pictures and other reviews. I wanted desperately to like it and to have a great holistic and meditative experience my first time in Bacalar. But sadly, the vibe and conditions were not at all what I expected and asside from a good, helpful attitude of the main staff, that place only has the marks of a well designed funky / eco village that has fallen in decay and disrepair. They did return all our money though when we decided to leave after an hour of hanging out there. So, I definitely give them props for that.

Experiencia negativa: Desde que hicimos check in el 31/Mar la recepcionista con pésima actitud, apenas y nos contestó el saludo como si estuviéramos llegando a pedir limosna. El "desayuno" consta de una taza de café, un minivaso de jugo y un plato de avena servido de mala gana. Lo que me pareció INSOPORTABLE fue la cama llena de CHINCHES, matamos 4 y encontramos otras dos que ya nos dio asco aplastar, además de que en las sábanas hay muchas manchitas de sangre. Esto lo escribo desde el lobby a las 2am porque tuvimos de salir del cuarto, no hay nadie en recepción que responda al reclamo y terminaremos pasando una pésima noche en una silla de madera con maletas hechas esperando a que amanezca para salir de aquí.

Experiencia positiva: Todo maravilloso. Sólo que la habitación compartida de literas alcanza una temperatura insoportable de noche y de día y aún con ventiladores no paré de sudar. La atención muy bien. La gente súper amable y el desayuno rico. En cuanto pongan un aire acondicionado en esa habitación, este lugar será de mis hostales favoritos.

Experiencia fantástica: El lugar es excelente, muy tranquilo, la gente muy amable. Nos alojamos en la casita, es muy linda y la vista impagable. Lo único cómo consejo para que solucionen es que la puerta del baño no cerraba, de todas maneras al haber parado solo una noche no se los dijimos porque no nos molesto. Sin dudas si volvería a Bacalar, volvería a alojarme acá.

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience ever. First time I visited was amazing. 2nd time I asked for private room. My partner birthday. Hey charged 1,500 pesos and when we arrived at 2 AM after driving 4 hora from PDC someone hacked us in into the dormitory room with like 7 beds and one big bed in the middle. They just cleared the dormitory shared place to charge us. We went to sleep. 2 hours later I wake up itching and I see big bedbugs ALL OVER ME THE BED and my Dog even. In our bags. It was horrible. Just unreal. We left the room right away and we had to wait from 4AM to 7AM FOR THE OWNER WHO KEPT Apologizing and that he got us a room in a hotel but the check in was 3PM. !!!! I was up for a day and a half. Seating with all my stuff full of bedbugs on the bank of most amazing lagoon with no shower and no room. It ruined all our birthday vacation. I had to throw my clothes and the bags to make Sure we will not transfer the bugs with us to our home. Disgrace. I would stay away

Experiencia fantástica: Super friendly staff! The place is always clean & peaceful. It provides a refrigerator, a kitchen, 2 showers and 4 toilets which are shared. Small place where they sell good Veggie food and drinks. The cabañas are a bit small with little light and a fan. The view is amazing! I would stay here again, thanks Diana & Dolores!!!

Experiencia fantástica: A very relaxed and chilled atmosphere. This place is right on the laguna with kayaks for hire and yoga classes available. Hot water showers also available at some times of the day. Breakfast is also quite good. All vegan food but there is a kitchen to cook your own.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing yoga everyday, beautiful views and delicious vegan food. I stayed three nights at Lulu this September and I can’t wait to go back. The owners are amazing, they have great advice for what to do and see in Bacalar. I took the kayak out everyday and the water in front of Lulu is crystal clear and warm. Looking forward to my next visit.

Experiencia positiva: This is a magical place where you feel welcomed in the jungle. Hosts are kind and cook delicious! staff (Miguel) is very attentive and friendly. The only downside is that it's very close to the road which is kinda busy and noisy even during the night.
