Experiencia positiva: Review for RESTAURANT ONLY We were staying at Alaya, just down the beach and stopped in for dinner one night. I had been communicating with someone at the hotel on Whatsapp, inquiring about gluten free options (my wife and son are celiac). They did have gluten free pasta available, which is great. Overall, the food was decent but nothing special. They oversold the cuisine of their "Italian chef" on the website. We were there on a Thursday night and there was only one other table occupied. Even so, the food was extremely slow to come out. Overall, it was a convenient short walk on the beach for us to get to dinner, but we likely would not return.

This underrated beachside spot not only offers breathtaking views but also delivers an exceptional culinary experience that deserves more recognition. I had the pleasure of trying their **ceviche**, which was hands down one of the best I've had in Tulum. The fish was incredibly fresh, marinated to perfection in a light, citrusy dressing that was both refreshing and flavorful. The dish was artfully garnished with thinly sliced radishes, which added a delightful crunch, while the cherry tomatoes burst with sweetness. Fresh cilantro leaves added a bright, herbaceous note that tied everything together beautifully. In addition to the ceviche, we also ordered the **Chicken in Lime Sauce**. The chicken was tender and succulent, bathed in a rich, tangy lime sauce that was bursting with flavor. The charred lemon slices on the side added a smoky, citrusy depth that complemented the dish wonderfully. The meal was accompanied by a basket of crisp, seasoned tortilla chips and a side of fresh salsa verde. The chips were perfect for scooping up the last bites of ceviche, making the experience even more satisfying. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our waitress made us feel incredibly welcome, allowing us to choose our favorite sun bed and even setting up an umbrella to protect us from the midday sun. Her attentiveness and warm hospitality truly elevated our experience. Casa Violeta may not be as well-known as other Tulum hotspots, but it has quickly become one of my favorite places for its unbeatable combination of good food, attentive service, and stunning beachfront scenery. If you find yourself in Tulum, make sure to stop by Casa Violeta for a meal you won't soon forget. Detalles destacados: you can also eat inside with no minimum charge and still enjoy the food. I Didn’t get to stay at their hotel but I would love to after trying their amazing food.

We both sat down for pizzas and had the best seats in the place, looking straight out to the sea. The food was very reasonably priced and very enjoyable. Would recommend.

The wait staff was excellent, the food was delicious, and the prices were a bit better than other hotel restaurants in the area. Plus, we had the whole place to ourselves, and the view of the beach was lovely. It was a very serene meal. Highly recommended.

Experiencia positiva: Our stay at Casa Violeta in Tulum was a dreamy escape. Nestled steps from the beach, the location felt straight out of a movie. While the lack of AC in March was noticeable, our cabana provided a cozy retreat with a deck perfect for our toddler to play. The restaurant staff were exceptional, ensuring our little one was well-fed and happy. Attending a friend's wedding there was pure perfection. Overall, Casa Violeta offers a serene getaway with attentive service and unforgettable experiences. 10/10, we'd return in a heartbeat!

Experiencia fantástica: Stopped in for breakfast, was confused thought it was the old OM Tulum (we were married there 8 years ago) spoke with the lady at the front desk she was so sweet! We actually came to honor my mother’s last wish to have her ashes let go in the sea outside of what used to be OM. We had a very nice breakfast which made our experience so much better. Service was great and the place had such a nice, peaceful vibe. Thank you so much for being part of a really important day without knowing…

Experiencia negativa: They are not pet friendly when they say they are. They are all the time telling you things about the dog, they don’t even let me enjoy I had to go. The owner is not polite at all, he’s not interested in making things work in harmony. There’s a couple of employees that were very nice but it seems the owner is not a leader.

Experiencia negativa: Sad disappointment...Food in bad condition (Food poisoning!) and lousy service from the brunette lady who is working in the afternoons is discriminatory, rude, haughty and prepotent. I can't judge the rooms but definitely the service, especially based on my last experience. I chose this place a couple of months ago on the recommendation of a couple of friends who used to visit this place a lot while living in Tulum. Regularly they and/or I with my partner attend in the mornings-noon regularly (1 or every 2 weeks AM shift). As locals, who enjoy rustic places that still "preserve" the "old Tulum vibe" we have been delighted with the service and especially breakfast from January to now. It is worth mentioning that when we wanted something from the lunch meal menu...they never had a third of the menu available, including a couple of times I ordered guacamole and they didn't have any...anyway, the service was so friendly and overall the service, prices and quality good that we keep coming back. Auri along with the morning staff guys are divine. After 3 weeks of absence, yesterday afternoon I went with my friends to be surprised by the bad attitude and arrogance of a worker in the restaurant that I did not know. She demanded 500 MXN for consumption per person upon my arrival at 4:30 PM in the afternoon with the hotel empty in low season in a place where neither me nor my friends had ever been asked for a minimum consumption, especially at that time when by 5:30-6 PM the sun was not even peeking out of the beach club. The attitude of the woman seemed that this world did not deserve her and even called me a liar between lines when I told her that I had been attending this place for months and that I had never been asked for a minimum consumption to answer "I've been working here for 4 years, beautiful" with a challenging attitude and tone that uff, I am NOT surprised that this place is always empty even in high season... What the lady did not take into account because of discrimination towards me (because of course, she saw me Mexican and with a local face, with my local friends, but foreigners), is that my consumption and those of my friends always exceed without problems those 500 MXN every time we decide to go to that or other beach club, but with that attitude and demanding in these conditions we prefer, no doubt, to spend our money somewhere else where they treat us decently. To finish, we ordered a guacamole that never arrived, a ceviche that gave us stomach ache and diarrhea. All at the expense of the service of this lady in question. Sad, relaxed and beautiful place that we locals enjoyed, but ultimately, no more.

Experiencia negativa: ROBBED WHILE WE SLEPT inside our magnolia room. My fiancé, and my future in-laws booked the magnolia room back in December. We stayed here because we were thinking about getting married in Tulum, specifically at Casa Violeta. It was our last night in Tulum when we got robbed. My fiancé and I slept on the second floor, while his parents slept on the first floor. It was 4 in the morning when my fiancé woke up to a women taking our things. When she realized we had woken up she ran out through the roof hut which was made out of straw. Once my fiancé jumped out of bed and realized what was happening he screamed for me to run downstairs. I was not sure yet what was happening until he yelled out that we had just gotten robbed and that we needed to leave. The person had taken our phones, wallets, headphone and portable charger that were on the bedside table. I felt so violated and scared. The fact that someone can come in through the roof and take things while we were asleep felt extremely unsafe. We spoke with the manager Pierre which said he could try and give us money for the phone, but in order to do so we needed to send him how much our phones costed us. We had to cancel all of our cards and order new phones. We packed up our things and left. We booked a room at a nearby hotel. I would advise to not stay here. It is very unsafe.

Experiencia fantástica: Great, small hotel. We stayed for 5 nights. Bungalows spread in beautiful garden. Located at the south (quieter) end of Tulum beach. Each bungalow has its own sunbed. Our room Ishtar had good air conditioning and clean bath room. No issues with insects (keep the windows closed at night). Very friendly staff!

Experiencia fantástica: Beach furniture is reserved for guests of Casa Violeta, BUT if there is a vacancy, you may order from the restaurant, and make use of the beach furniture. My girlfriends and I ordered drinks (frozen margaritas/margaritas on the rocks) and snagged a beach mattress for a couple hours. The staff was kind enough to set up an umbrella too. Pleasant staff, nice view of the beach, no minimum. Charming restaurant and garden area. There were a couple of art installations (including a gratitude tree) in the courtyard area.

Experiencia negativa: The good: pleasant / helpful staff, great view from restaurant, a dedicated sun bed and excellent walkabilty of the location. 2 small free waters a day. The bad: the room was like glamping. Doors and screens on windows not sealed, large gaps to outside. We had several large cockroaches in the mornings and were bitten by bugs at night. Lighting in the room was very dim, even in the bathroom. Sink leaked entire trip, left a puddle we had to step in every day. Room (Lotus) was advertised as ocean view. It was in the far corner of the property and 90% blocked by structures and trees. Almost no service on the beach unless you went inside to order and no music was played outside at all. Beach area was not kept private, they allowed groups of non -guests to camp on the sand next to your bed all day for the price of a beverage. We went for a beach walk and returned to find our sunbed pillows, beach towels and cover taken by people on the sand. Didn’t feel like our belongings were safe outside to go in the water or to the restaurant. Included breakfast was only juice, coffee, fruit and bread - the same every day with no seconds. Ate at the restaurant a few times, very bland food. We asked for help scheduling an excursion and they forgot, never followed up. Didn’t change the sheets our entire stay. Summary - wouldn’t recommend for the price. Paid $300 nt for a very rustic room with two beds, a below average restaurant and minimal service.

Experiencia negativa: Prix exorbitant. 600$M soit 15€ le verre de vin au restaurant. On entend le bruit du groupe électrogène dans les chambres (pas facile de dormir) Au moment de payer je vous conseille de vérifier la note (bien salé). Dans notre cas il y avait une erreur (en notre défaveur bien sur) et une somme de 400€M qu il fallait payer et bien que nous n ayons pas compris à quoi elle correspondait. Bref sinon le parc est sympa et le personnel souriant.

Experiencia fantástica: Cabaña Rosa Nautica exquisita, hecha con amor, muy limpia, llena de detalles, agua caliente ok, habitacion fresca, camas super comodas, lugar seguro, playa a pasos, limpia, restaurant super lindo, desayuno suficiente para nosotros. Personal muy amable, siempre disponibles. Lugar bellisimo con decoracion rústica, muy bien pensado y cómodo!

Experiencia negativa: I hate to say it, because the staff here is very kind but if sweltering hot rooms, and finding cockroaches and scorpions in your room every night is your thing, then by all means, go forth and book your room.

Experiencia positiva: A chill and sane respite on a strip that can be ridiculous, Casa Violeta is a terrific value for Tulúm beachfront hotels. I stayed in Gaia, farthest from the beach—which was quiet if a bit cave-like. During my stay, the internet was spotty, and the electricity went out a couple of times—but I chalk that up to overdevelopment in the town; the staff was helpful and supportive throughout, clearly having had experience with these issues.

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to take a minute to write a note of appreciation for how great our dinner experience was. We found the restaurant by accident and we fell in love with the atmosphere and the sea breeze with the fool moon. Our food was absolutely delicious and our server Julio was fantastic!! He was very attentive and had a great knowledge about the items on the menu that really brought the cuisine to life. The dining experience was very memorable both through the food and through the service provided. I don’t often write reviews but this restaurant was fantastic. We got the cacio e Pepe pasta, the ribeye steak the tuna steak and the truffle ravioli and they were all amazing! The cocktails were great and the desserts were delicious. Truly an unexpected dining experience. Tip was included on the bill which is normal in the south hotel district and it was more than earned. If you are reading this you are probably on vacation so get a good meal and pay a good tip for your servers who are both knowledgeable and entertaining in very good English!

Experiencia negativa: Pas notre meilleur souvenir de notre séjour au Yucatan. Nous avions une chambre sur jardin et malgré le fait que l’hôtel soit à moitié vide nous avons hérité d’une chambre à l’entrée près d’un générateur qui gronde toute la nuit. La chambre etait certe belle mais très chaude, pas d’aération donc difficile à rafraîchir avec le simple ventilateur fournis. Le petit déjeuner est très simple, et même l’expresso est en supplément. La plage est belle, mais seuls les hôtels voisins nettoyaient les algues échouées devant mais pas le notre, encore dommage... pour les belles photos faut aller plus loin...

Experiencia negativa: Decent cocktails on the beach, and a beautiful, serene dining room at the back of the hotel------but I had a 20% tip added to my bill and then written out by pen, a practise not acceptable in Mexico. Service in general was so-----so. Also the drive down the beach road is somewhat treacherous...pot holes everywhere.

Experiencia fantástica: Stayed here in October and it was the best experience I have EVER had. Our room sat on the beach, was always super clean, and even with no air conditioning the fan and breeze kept us cool. This is an eco lodge so this won't be for everyone, but if eco is what you are looking for it is 5 stars. Food was delicious, coffee was strong, and the drinks were out of this world! We even got to help baby sea turtle get turned in the right direction when they hatched. Hundreds of them! Mario was more than helpful and we will for sure be back!

Experiencia negativa: It a shame that in 2019 some hotels still think they own the beach. FYI Mexican Constitution decrees all beaches to be publicly accessible federal property. Someone from the staff (Arturo) told us that "his" beach was for guests only and asked us to leave.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the nicest beaches in Tulum. Great menu, ingredients and service. This place has a special soul and vibe that many other places lack. Stay in sea front rooms anytime from May/June to September to cool down with that night breeze. No a/c. But ceiling fans do the trick.

Experiencia fantástica: Is a beautiful place!! Right on the ocean! Love that it is eco friendly, even though this means no AC. Wind keeps you cool anyways with all the screened windows. Staff was helpful when the smokers in the room next to us were making our room smell. They brought us a fan to help move any smoke out and spoke to the people several times on our behalf. Felt very secure as they had gate staff and night security. When I had people arrive the staff first alerted me then just brought them up but, never let anyone wander around. Cleaners were polite and quick. Were canadian and trust more than we should, so electronics were never hidden and never bothered. The service prices were a surprise. I considered both massage and yoga but, they were more costly than Vancouver. Found both to be cheaper in many other areas. This seems to be a trend in that part of Tulum though. Restaurant has a good continental breakfast. The breakfast for purchase were good price and portions as well. The lunch/dinner menu tended toward smaller servings and more costly but, were yummy. Would stay again!

Experiencia negativa: I stayed at Casa Violeta this past March for my sisters wedding. It’s was beautiful, the rooms were very nice with an authentic Mexico feel. The employees I dealt with were very helpful and pleasant. All was going great until I went to gather my things and check out on the 5th day. I immediately noticed my laptop and tablet were missing. I’m not a newbie traveler so I alway attempt to lock my valuables in the lockbox provided by the hotel, however the lockbox was very small and I could not fit the electronics, so I then decided to hide the electronics under all of my bags and clothing. The door to my room was the type that locked immediately when it’s closed so I ruled out a random burglary. I also tipped the housecleaning service very well, which further angered me. When I brought it to the attention of the hotel manager(Mario)he seem unsurprised, and said that the hotels insurance would take care of it. I wrote down all of my information and was asked to provide receipts for the stolen items, which I did a day later. Needless to say I was not reimbursed for my items and completely ignored by Casa Violeta since the day I left. I spent thousands of dollars between the room and their restaurant but was still stolen from.There are plenty of beautiful places to stay along the coast in Tulum, do yourself a favor and don’t get taken like I did.

Experiencia fantástica: Looking for a healthy breakfast look no further. This place has amazing avocado toast and fresh made juice. The view isn't bad as well. A must try for an inexpensive start to your day in Tulum.

Experiencia fantástica: Great vibe, amazing service, excellent Yoga, simply beautiful... Karla and her team are great in this chilled and relaxed atmosphere. Alia provides great yoga sessions daily 9am weekdays, 10 on weekends, in a gorgeous tranquil yoga space..... but she can get you sweating for sure... And if want to be a bit more active, easy beach access to kite and surf rentals. This is a great spot to walk the beach and enjoy many of the local restaurants and atmospheres in the heart of Tulum beach. Tops!
