Experiencia negativa: El equipo está en muy malas condiciones. Desde los 5 caminadoras, solo una funciona bien. Las bicicletas son basura y los elípticos tampoco son muy buenos. La mensualidad sale en casi 800 pesos y por eso recibes equipo en muy malas condiciones. Ojalá que el dueño hace los reparaciones para que la gente puede llegar y hacer cardio.

Experiencia fantástica: Este gimnasio tiene dos sucursales ña de la.colonia reforma a 15 minutos del.centro de la ciudad de oaxaca y la del.centro a solo 2 minutos caminando de la.iglesia de santo domingo, ideal.para alguien que visita la ciudad y no quiere perder su vida fitness

Experiencia fantástica: The concierge at my hotel suggested this gym, since our hotel doesn’t have one. Then I read the reviews and thought I’d correct the confusion around price: it cost 150 pesos or, at the moment, $8.85 US for a day pass. There were some reviews saying this was an “unfair” price. To me, we are in the middle of the country and I chose to stay at a hotel without a gym. This price seems completely fair for what they offer. I’d be willing to pay more than that if it meant I could workout a few times on my trip, and this gym had everything I needed. I’d highly suggest coming here for anyone looking to workout while in Oaxaca. An added bonus for morning gym goers and runners: there’s great coffee/espresso next door and a difficult trail nearby in the Cerro del Fortin.

Experiencia negativa: My, oh, my! What happened to you, Calipso? This used to be my go-to place for the past 5 years, but after today's experience, no more. I've seen the price of a day pass go from MXN 80 to MXN 180 last year, and now MXN 230 with an (unexpected) extra charge of MXN 50 for what amounts to a refreshment towel. All in the name of anti-Covid sanitary measures, of course. Add to that the rather nasty Cerberus manning the front desk, and you are in for an unpleasant experience. At least put her in a polyester uniform with a little hat, so customers know what they are up against. This used to be a place for a relaxed, if stuffy at hora pico, workout among friends. There are better & cheaper options in town, so please save yourself the aggravation.

Experiencia negativa: The prices they have are ridiculous, 230 mxn for a daily pass and 590 mxn for a weekly pass (I didn’t dare to ask for the monthly subscription…) - there is another gym up the road which offers much better value and it is in line with the gym prices in Oaxaca (prices are 1/5 than Calipso), I’d recommend that one instead.

Experiencia fantástica: Our experience at the gym was great! The women at the entrance was super friendly. The gym itself is equipped well and has everything you need. The price is a bit higher but you also get a free protein drink at the end.

Experiencia negativa: Me decepcionó Yo quería continuar mi rutina de cardio durante mis vacaciones. Pagué $490.00 por una semana. La chica de recepción, muy amable. Lista de inconformidad; 1. Los lockers son pagados por mes... Tus objetos personales los dejas en una estantería frente a recepción. No me g 2. En el segundo piso están las caminadoras. De las cuales funcionan dos o tres, en la que me subí rechinaba muy fuerte , con un sonido desagradable. 3.El internet que tienen es malo, pues baje a la recepción, reinicie mi cel me pusieron la clave nuevamente, subí nuevamente...y el internet muy muy pobre. Baje a recepción, y le dije a la chica, que fue muy amable, que cancelaba mi suscripción. Sin problema me regreso ell monto pagado. Sugerencia: Denle mantenimiento a sus caminadoras y mejoren su internet con un repetidor.

Experiencia negativa: Llevo 9 años entrenando en gimnasios y este es el caso relación "Costo Beneficio" que considero no lo vale. Pagué $290 por una visita, al preguntar a la chica de recepción me dijo que era porque te incluía una bebida de proteína de tu elección... mi sorpresa fue que al momento de pagar me dice "Te comento que la chica que prepara las proteínas no ha llegado, pero te puedo cambiar tu prote, por una botella de Agua marca epura, que tiene el mismo valor de la bebida", a lo que le comento, "no te preocupes, mejor dame una barrita de las que tienes aquí, pues equivale a la misma cantidad que la bebida" y para mi sorpresa cuando me dice "No, porque el equivalente es la botella de agua que vale $90, lo mismo que la proteína y la barrita vale mucho más". Para terminar pronto, los aparatos y pesas son muy pocos, el espacio reducido, poca luz, distribución improvisada, vestidores y área de espera muy reducidos. En conclusión, es caro por la ubicación y su mercado meta son turistas de otros países (en su mayoría) que lo pagan, sin saber que al final es una trampa, pues pueden encontrar a corta distancia gimnasios mejor equipados y por la sexta parte de lo que aquí pagas. Espero les sea de gran ayuda :)

Experiencia negativa: Dicen que te cobran 50 pesos por día por no pagar el día exacto en que se vence el mes, aunque no hayas podido ir ese día. En mi caso se venció un viernes, me fue imposible llegar. Quise pagar el lunes y ya tenía recargo.

Experiencia negativa: Of the eight treadmills you'd be lucky to find one that work correctly. Woman at the front desk (seemingly always there) is RACIST and will harass non-mexican patrons for a variety of things. The lights are turned off in several workout areas. The men's changing rooms are ok, just ok, the bathroom is gross.

Experiencia negativa: This place is the most unprofessional gym ever. Everyday a cardio machine is down and they don't even bother to put up a sign letting people know the machines are broken. If you go on the treadmill the light switch turns off - which means it cant handle power. The lights are always off and its hard to see. The women receptionist is ALWAYS on her phone and doesn't bother to talk to the gym members. They overcharge for a membership and most of the equipment doesn't work. I recommend saving a couple bucks and go to another gym!!!

Experiencia negativa: The gym itself is a fine gym. There are necessary precautions in place for covid which is good. I have had several negative interactions with the female staff member named Mari. She has bothered my wife and I almost every time we go there. I live here in Oaxaca and always try to respect the people, businesses and their rules without question. She has interrupted our workouts several times telling us how to wipe down the machines or to use our towels to wipe our sweat off of ourselves. I work in nursing, have taken several biological sciences and i am aware of potential bacteria or viruses on equipment and think about this every time I touch something in this sort if environment. This staff member will be the reason My wife and I switch gyms. All of the other staff members have been very friendly and helpful.

Experiencia positiva: A clean gym. It has a couple of plate loaded machines as well as stacked ones. Dumbbells go up to 30kg, although there are two 85lbs (38.6kg) dumbbells. You have enough weights for barbells and you can basically load them up as much as you want. There’s a whole floor dedicated to legs and cardio. Could have had more variety of plate loaded and stacked machines for upper body. Entrance was 150 pesos which is quite high compared to other, bigger, and better equipped gyms in Oaxaca.

Experiencia negativa: Rather strange place. I've never before seen a gym that doesn't let you look around before paying. This gym costs about twice the others in the area but i signed up anyway. The music is often way too loud. There is hygiene but they don't actually do the one thing that would help for reduce respiratory transmission: open windows and improve ventilation.

On top of that, they where renovating half the gym, therefore a big part of the gym was inaccessible. They didn't tell me this before entering and accepting my payment. I am sure there are better gyms to do your work outs at in oaxaca

Experiencia negativa: One of the rudest staff I have ever experienced in 30 years of travel - on July 11, 2022, they refused to let me workout even though they let me work out earlier in day saying my pass expired the day before - contradicting what they told me in earlier in the day. The female attendant was rude to me EVERY time I visited and I didn’t say anything - but today I had enough - she was rude as well as the rest of the staff - the owner must train them all to be jerks - I LOVE Oaxaca and this place dose NOT belong - don’t go here !

Experiencia fantástica: This gym is great. It’s $120 pesos for a day pass. You need two towels, one for personal use and one for wiping the equipment. If you bring your own personal use towel, they’ll allow it, so you only have to buy the one for wiping equipment. Though this might seem like a hassle, it shows that they take COVID precautions seriously. The gym has good equipment and everything that you need!

Experiencia negativa: I always check out a gym before I commit to a membership. I was not allowed to see the facilities. I was told to buy the 750 peso membership first. What I could see from the entrance: equipment strewn all over the floor, super loud, blaring music and it was very dark. The entranceway was hot. So I went to the gym on Porfirio Diaz, entered looked around and chatted with the patron. Then I committed to a membership for 350 pesos a month. This gym is immaculate, has natural light, has more than adequate facilities and a welcoming tone.

Experiencia fantástica: Sufficient! It gets the job done. Adequate aerobics machines and setups, free weights. All-around respectable setup. Has locker rooms and shower. Additionally, it is also open throughout the day.

Experiencia negativa: Estaba en Oaxaca por pocos días, yo quiera ver todo el gimnasio para que decidir comprar el paquete por un mes pero la chica me dijo que solo yo podría ver del puerto y no se puede caminar por el lugar. Interesante. Es como alquilando un apartamento sin ver todo??? Loco en mi opinión. $720 por mes, $450 por semana. Pitbull Gym, Power Fitness y Elite Gym son $100-$250 cada semana, más cerca del centro y mucho más simpático con un sentimiento más agradable!

Experiencia positiva: Membership is expensive ($730 / month, plus signup fee), day pass is $150. Lockers cost extra, no showers. Maybe this is normal for Mexico but they don’t seem to offer much. Classes only twice a day, 7:30 am and pm.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve used this gym for a few months off and on over the last year and I’m done with it after my membership expires this month. First, they don’t fix equipment with any sense of urgency. The only rowing machine has been broken for a couple weeks, and the one non-recumbent electric stationary bike has been broken for over a month. Next, the free weight area is always a mess. People don’t put back weights when they’re done with them, instead just leaving them strewn all over the floor. Benches are always left in weird places too. I get that the area is small and can get crowded, but that is more reason to keep it in order. And, instead of helping keep the area tidy and safe, the staff is usually either sitting around or endlessly sweeping the floor around the front desk. Between the general lack of gym etiquette from members, the broken equipment, and the cramped weights area, it’s not worth the membership cost, which is higher than most other gyms in the area. Oh, the urinal has been broken for quite a while now too.

Experiencia positiva: Had plenty of cardio equipment to get things done. Some equipment looked dated. Definitely avoid the morning, as the other reviewer suggested. I liked going early afternoon, as there’s no wait. There’s a locker room for men, for a mere $100 MXP per month, so I was told. Had two working showers, though I didn’t partake. Daily pase visita was $150 MXP in March 2019, less than $8 USD. Good location and easily accessible. I highly recommend.
