Oscar, the host is very friendly and the place is clean and budget friendly. My private room with its own toilet and shared shower and shared kitchen was 150 pesos a night. Very enjoyable stay. It's more of a guesthouse, so contact owners with arrival time since they live behind the property and have to give you keys. We did two daytrips around comitan and this was perfect base. Had we known there was a historic centre to Comitan, we would have stayed longer to explore

Experiencia fantástica: Absolute GEM of a place. We stayed for five nights and loved every moment of it. Great owners, great Beke (dog), great kitchen, great coffee and drinking water for free, great rooms. The only minor downside is that it's about 15 minutes walking till you reach the historic centre, but instead you are only five minutes away from a massive supermarket and many transport options. It's incredible value for money as well. Make sure to cut out booking.com, as you get it about 25% cheaper when booking directly with the owners via WhatsApp. They are very responsive.

Experiencia fantástica: ¡Una excelente opción para quienes viajan en moto o hacen overlanding! Encontramos el hostal perfecto en Comitán, a solo una hora de la frontera con Guatemala. Nuestras motos estuvieron seguras en el garaje, lo que nos dio mucha tranquilidad. El ambiente es acogedor, las camas son cómodas, el Wi-Fi es rápido y la cocina está impecable, equipada con todo lo necesario. Además, hay agua potable disponible y el lugar es pet-friendly, algo que valoramos mucho. Pero lo mejor de todo es, sin duda, la ducha caliente con mucha presión, perfecta después de un largo día en la carretera. ¡Muy recomendado!

Experiencia positiva: We spent only one night here to see El Chiflon in the morning. The owners are incredibly kind & accomodating. Even in our broken Spanish they were able to let us know how to reach the waterfalls by Colectivo, which was fab! The hostel itself is basic & quiet. But the rooms are comfortable enough for 1 night. We weren’t given any towels & we did have to ask for our room key though. But overall, it was perfect for what we needed it for!

Besonders die Ruinen und Wasserfälle von Chiflón sind einen Besuch Wert und leicht mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen. Der Hostelbesitzer ist sehr freundlich, hat uns einige wertvolle Tipps gegeben, alle Fragen beantwortet und war immer sehr gut zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und die Betten sehr gemütlich.

Experiencia fantástica: Sólo estuvimos un día de paso hacia la frontera, pero fue un recibimiento ameno. Habitaciones cómodas con lo necesario, baños con agua caliente y limpios, café y agua gratis, y se permite el acceso a la cocina y refrigerador para lo que se necesite. Además, muy cerca del centro y de los lugares para tomar el transporte hacia otros sitios. Sin duda vuelvo a reservar si voy de nuevo a ir a Comitan.

Gracias a los anfitriones Andrea y Oscar, te hacen sentir como en casa y te orientan para cualquier actividad o lugar que quieras visitar en la zona. Además me facilitaron espacio para guardar mi moto dentro.

Experiencia fantástica: The best place to stay in Comitán! Oscar and his wife have the kindest hearts and make your stay as comfortable as possible and are always willing to answer questions or to have a chat - it’s one of those places that you feel welcome from the beginning. Location is a short walk from bus/colectivo terminals and the Centro. The rooms are comfortable, light and clean. Wifi is strong. The shared bathroom has great water pressure pressure and hot water and is incredibly clean. The shared kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need to cater for yourself during your stay (microwave, stovetop, containers, etc). Coffee and drinking water are available all day in the kitchen. Stay here when wanting to visit El Chifon, Lagos de Montebello and Chucumaltik!

Experiencia fantástica: Un buen lugar para descansar limpio y acojedor., cuenta con una pequeña cocina pero bien equipada, bien ubicado ya que a unas cuadras tienes un supermercado, cajeros y transporte público para ir a varios centros ecoturísticos, a 15 min caminando al centro de este pueblo mágico, Comitán es un punto estratégico para hecer base y conocer varios lugares ya que cerca de este maravilloso pueblo se encuentran varias maravillas naturales como el Cenote de Chucumaltik, Cascadas del Chiflón, San Francisco Uninajab Lagos de Montebello, Tzimol, Zona Arqueológica de Tenampuente, Albercas Alvarado.

Experiencia fantástica: Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de notre séjour à l'hostel casa del sol. Oscar est adorable et donne toujours beaucoup de conseils. Les chambres sont spacieuses et très propres. La salle de bain aussi avec en prime de l'eau chaude. Nous avons aussi à disposition une cuisine mais la famille d'Oscar peut aussi vous préparer des plats généreux. Le lieux se trouve non loin des colectivos et d'un supermarché, 15-20 min à pied du centre et du terminus ado.

Experiencia fantástica: We stayed 4 nights while exploring the area and had a great stay ! The room was comfortable and clean, there's hot water in the shower and a fonctional little kitchen. It's close to the main colectivo terminal that will take you to El chiflon, san Cristobal, Tenam Puente, etc. There is lots to do around Comitan, so it was a good place to base ourselves. Oscar and Andrea were very nice and welcoming, they gave us good recommendations on what to do and how to get there. It's excellent value for money (especially if you book direct with Oscar) and we highly recommend this hostel !

Experiencia positiva: Grazie Oscar, il propietario e sua moglie Andrea per la gentilezza e disponibilità, siamo stati 3 notti ed addirittura la quarta sarebbe stata gratuitase avessimo potuto approfittarne ma le tempistiche di viaggio non ce lo hanno permesso. A cinque minuti dalla strada principale, a dieci dal terminal occ e un quarto d'ora dal centro, bella struttura, belle camere e massima tranquillità. Experiencia fantástica: Nous avons passé deux très bonnes nuits chez Oscar et sa femme. Le couple est très accueillant et est à votre écoute pour quoi que ce soit, sans être intrusif. La cuisine est fonctionnelle et bien équipée, la chambre est agréable (avec un bon matelas !) et tout est très propre. Vous n'avez pas les clés de l'entrée mais il y a toujours quelqu'un pour vous ouvrir. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés, pour un très bon rapport qualité-prix : 250 pesos la nuit pour une chambre double. Merci !

Experiencia fantástica: Vine por dos semanas de trabajo y es una buena oportunidad para ahorrar viáticos ya que es muy económico un lugar limpio y con un muy buen servicio ya que cuenta con servicio de comedor y es muy barato y un lugar seguro lo recomiendo no hay tele pero si hay internet y baño muy limpio yo con mis app de TV y cable no necesito TV con el internet veo todo lo que quiero en mi CEL.

Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I stayed at Hostal Casa Del Sol for a few nights while exploring the area. You get a comfy private double bed for the price of a dorm - excellent value for money. The bathroom is clean and the shower has hot water. There is a small but functional kitchen available for use, as well as laundry services. They also run a restaurant which I've heard is good, though we didn't try it ourselves. Best of all however, was how welcoming and helpful the hosts were. Shoutout to Oscar and his wife! They made sure we had everything we needed, had helpful tips for visiting the local area, and even drove us to our colectivo to make sure we made it on time! Incredibly generous and kind people.

Experiencia fantástica: We called Hostal Casa del Sol at 7:00pm looking for a room in Comitán after being in the car all day. I was greeted by the warm, welcoming voice of Oscar - the owner. He invited us in with a big smile on his face & showed us to our room. We were only in Comitán for a short while but staying here was such a pleasure. He gave us advice on places to eat around town & really helped us with whatever we needed. This is a gem in Chiapas and I highly recommended staying at Hostal Casa del sol Comitán. Experiencia fantástica: I went to Comitan as a base to see El Chiflon before heading to Guatemala. The owners are the absolute best and that’s why I’m writing this review besides enjoying my stay as well. The bed is very comfortable and the room was great and very affordable for what you get. The shower is really nice, they have free coffee and agua del dia. They have a restaurant too and the food is great. Highly recommend this place if you’re going to be staying in Comitan. You get a private room which costs the same as a dorm bunk usually would. It’s in a great location close to the main road and near centro as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful and cute little place! They have 3 private rooms with double bed, current price $250mx/night. The hostel is very nice; great bed, hot shower, good wifi, little kitchen and they also have a restaurant with cheap prices. The hosts are even more lovely than the hostel itself! We absolutely enjoyed our stay. They possibly only speak spanish tho. Would stay again, no doubt.

Experiencia fantástica: Greeted with warmth upon arriving un-announced. Comfortable room, lounge and small food prep area with fridge. Restaurant service initially didn't offer much for vegetarian food, so they made us a cute lil salad on the house! Location is not central as noted in another review, though enjoying a coffee in the beautiful main square is only a 10 min walk away. Did wish drinking water was more readily accesible, and that the spacious bathroom was more thoroughly cleaned, but all and all a great visit at Casa Del Sol! Thanks for the lift to the bus terminal on our way out of town !

Experiencia negativa: Me pareció mediocre por que apesar de que es un hostal céntrico no tiene las características para poder atender a los huéspedes que lleguen a hospedarse en el, la chica que nos atendió de nombre Rebeca se tomó unos tragos con el novio y prefirió acostarse a dormir que a esperar a los huéspedes que estábamos fuera de las instalaciones alrededor de más de 2 hrs y media esperando en que abrieran el dichoso lugar, aparte según nos llevaron a otras instalaciones para resarcir el daño a lo cual estaba bien lejos y solitario, después de eso tuvimos que salirnos ya que no nos dieron la confianza para quedarnos ahí a descansar en lo que sacaban o abrían las instalaciones del hotel del centro, después de todo el relajo que se hizo nos llevaron a otras instalaciones peores que las del centro en dónde las habitaciones olían bastante a líquido de limpieza y tenía algunos bichos como arañas y cochinillas, en verdad si no saben lo que conlleva tener un establecimiento así no se renten, ninguno de los 3 lugares que tienen administrando esta empresa. Aparte les llame para ver si se quedaron unas artesanías y prefirieron mejor desviar mi llamada, que feo que existe una empresa así en tan bonito lugar. Si no saben, mejor no se renten!!!
